Book Blurb :
“Too hot? She’ll have to take more than one taste to decide. ”
“Urban Fairytales, Book 2″
After devoting ten years to caring for her grandmother, Zora Calloway is ready for the next stage of her life-until a series of frightening phone calls reminds her of an abusive ex who might still have it in for her. At least she has someplace to run and a job waiting for her when she gets there.
But a near-fatal collision with a huge black bear on a dark, storm-swept road changes everything. She wakes up in a secluded cabin, confronted by her rescuer: a naked hunk in the form of Logan Lamere. An explosive attraction leads her straight into his arms…then she learns they are not alone.
Bear-shifter cousins Heath, Gavin and Logan Lamere had lost faith in finding their mate until Zora comes crashing into their lives. With one glance, they know she’s the one they’ve been waiting for.
Zora is stunned at how easily she succumbs to the temptation to stay for a short while. But the men have forever in mind-if they can persuade their Goldilocks to accept three bears as her mates. And keep her safe from a danger that blindsides them all.
Warning: Three sexy shifters, one willing woman-the bed is just right….and so is the table…the wall…the woods… If you thought it was really all about the porridge, go to the back of the class.
Review:
Zora Calloway recently buried her Nana and was driving to Ohio, decided to let behind Covington. She gets lost in Tennessee, and because of the storm hits a bear. In her hurry to move away of the bear, she gets in the car and the slippery roads make her to hit a tree.
Seeing her hit the tree, after she hit him, Gavin Lamere would have taken her to the hospital, if he hadn’t felt that she is an onida, their onida—wife, a descendant of those who were specifically bred to mate with his kind. Because Zora, as are Heath, Logan and Gavin, is descended from a race of people whose DNA was spliced with a race of sentient bears named Kelowna. Only the men can shift and she is the female counterpart who can have their children. The normal human can’t.
So Gavin took her home to his cousins, Heath and Logan Lamere. She’d been unconscious for the past five days and Gavin used their medicine and his healing abilities to cure her wounds. He is a doctor too, so he knows what to do to cure her.
Zora wakes up hungry in a dormitory she doesn’t know, so she searches for the kitchen and finds a feast of bacon, eggs, sausage, ham, steak, fried potatoes and hash laid out on the kitchen table. She can’t resist the temptation. After filling her belly, she starts to hear roars outside and someone at the kitchen’s door so and she runs into a naked man—with an obscenely large cock, which seemed to be growing harder by the second.
Logan is about to have sex with her, when Gavin and Heath enter the living room, as naked as Logan. Zora runs and hides in the room she awakened in.
After she leaves, the men decide to give her some time to know them and discover her heritage, but no more than three days.
I figure she probably doesn’t know about her heritage and that could take some getting used to. I say we give her a few days, let her get to know us better and then we make our move.
When Gavin and Heath come to talk to her, she wants the truth; when she doesn’t get it, she decides to go walking to the closest town —her car was damaged in the accident. But when she tries to go away, she gets the surprise of her life … she sees a bear and then she sees Logan, where the bear was seconds before. The guys finally tell her the truth. That they are shape shifters and that she is theirs.
You are our mate. You belong to me, Gavin and Logan.
The men are trying to convince Zora to give them a chance, to stay with them a couple of weeks. She does after she calls her cousin Bernice, because after a week gone missing, her cousin gives the job and the room Zora was to get to another person, instead of calling the police and filing a missing person’s report!
The next part has some humor:
“And who decided you’d be the one to bring me upstairs?”
“We decided like any civilized people would.”
“Oh?”
“We rock-paper-scissored for it.” He grinned.
And romance
We love you. You’re our onida, our mate and to us that means forever. If we don’t say it often, it’s because what we feel for you goes beyond just a simple word. What we have is so fierce and so deep, once we claimed you, you bonded to us. We are all one.
Zora leaves Covington because of some calls she gets and she is thinking they were from her ex, Dale. But when the men pay a private investigator, they are told that Dale has been dead for three years. They don’t know what’s going one and who Zora’s stalker is.
The first part of the story is not bad but it wasn’t what I was looking for from Ms. Eve Vaughn. When I knew about this release, I pre-ordered the book. And that was over a month ago, before its release. I’m sorry to say that the book is turning out to be a deception. It doesn’t have the quality I am used to from this author. And the end … let’s say it was a complete turn off. I really hope Ms. Eve Vaughn’s next releases will have the wonderful characters and awesome storyline she is famous for. 3 couples.
