Book Blurb :
Fed up with the hollow glitz and fakery that is Hollywood, screen siren Kristen Mann heads home to Stratton to get her feet back on the ground and re-charge. Things don’t go quite to plan when her car breaks down, leaving her to be rescued by her very own knight in shining armor. Only this knight isn’t any ordinary man. He’s a werewolf with his own ideas on dealing with damsels in distress.
Kyle Roberts has watched every film Kristen has ever made, so when she falls into his lap, or more accurately, he tows her little car back to the workshop he runs with his uncle, he can’t believe his luck. But his admiration for her acting abilities doesn’t stop his wolf scenting the woman it wants. So what if she’s older than he is? Age is just a number, and there are a few digits he’d like to introduce her to…
But when Hollywood comes calling, in the shape of a slick agent and a rabid pack of reporters, can Kyle put aside his pride and convince Kristen that he’s the wolf for her?
Review:
Kristen Mann, aka the actress ‘Krystal Kerr’, the siren, is twice divorced and needs some time to re-charge. She tells her agent she is taking some time out after her last movie wraps and now she is visiting her best friend, Kelli. She knows about Kelli and Max, her mate, being shifters, but Kristen never met the right werewolf to make her put up with the wet dog smell … until Kyle.
When Kristen’s car breaks down, she doesn’t expect her mechanic to be younger and too attractive for his own good.
Kyle Roberts was a werewolf.
He was also sex on freaking legs. Great legs. Attached to a great ass.
All she could think about was those strong arms wrapped around her. About peeling that tight t-shirt from what she could tell was a ripped body and running her hands over work-hardened muscles.
Kyle can’t believe his eyes when he sees Kristen; he’s seen every film she’s been in, and is a very big fan of hers … for him, it’s like all his dreams come true; especially when she seems to want him as much he does.
And what starts as a one night stand for Kristen turns to be a lot more, as she can’t take her hands off Kyle and her feelings start to be deepen in their relationship; although she tries to deny that.
Honesty and laughter; the two biggest aphrodisiacs out there. If she was on a hunt for Mr. Happily Ever After, Kyle Roberts would so be at the top of her list.
Just when Kyle allows himself to think that they could have a future together, her agent, Xander, decides Kristen has had enough free time and pays her a visit with a large number of paparazzi, effectively ending her relationship with Kyle by telling him that for her he is just a bit of fun; and that she does this kind of stuff after ending a movie. Kyle has to decide if what they had is real or not.
This book is the second in the Stratton Wolves Series. The first one, Midsummer Heat, was Kelli and Max’s story.
I enjoyed reading this short story, as I always do with Mina Carter’s books, although I would have preferred to read more about Kelli and Max. There was no conversation between Kelli and Kristen, just a mention from Kristen’s part.
These are some of the lines I loved while reading the story.
Cab. With him. Stamina of superman.
Her sex-starved brain latched onto the three thoughts and held on like a pitbull.
I’m all wolf…” he reached out to loop a curl of her dyed hair, a deep rich scarlet, around his finger. “So better be careful, Red, or I might eat you all up.”
Oh God, yes please.
“Oh grandma, what big teeth you have,” she whispered, reaching up on tiptoe to press her lips against his.
I’m rating it 4 couples.
